New Chapter for Luxury Golf Lodging at Boyne Resort
Golfers looking for a luxury accommodations experience on their next northern Michigan golf experience should consider the Inn at Bay Harbor, along the Lake Michigan shoreline, which has turned a new leaf as an independent luxury resort within the Boyne Resorts family.
After 30 years as a luxury destination, the transition from Marriott’s Autograph Collection to independent operation enhances the property’s ability to integrate more directly with Boyne Resorts’ portfolio of amenities and experiences, including BOYNE Golf’s offerings and packages.
“Becoming an independent resort allows the Inn to offer greater flexibility and personalization for golf guests,” said Josh Richter, Senior Vice President of Golf for Boyne Resorts. “This is an amazing opportunity for golfers seeking a luxury experience to stay at the Inn at Bay Harbor while on a BOYNE Golf package.”
In the past, there was only one package offered to guests at the Inn, based on couples, the Champions Package that had 18 holes of golf and breakfast.
“Now, you can take any Boyne (golf) package and if you want to stay at a place with the service level of a Marriott Autograph, upping your game of where you stay whether it’s couples or some buddies – giving you the highest level of lodging and service, you can do any of all the other packages we offer, and stay at the Inn,” said Ken Griffin, Director of golf sales and marketing. “That wasn’t the case before. You could only go buy tee times. There’s not as big of a financial gap as there used to be, but it’s still an advantage to buy a package.”
If you are interested, do not wait too long. Boyne has more than tripled the nights of rooms booked compared to the same time last year. Due to having the ability to offer all the packages, it’s opened up more rooms at the other Boyne lodging options. Boyne visitors now average 3.85 nights at the resort. The old usage rate used to be 2.98 nights for the longest time.
