Michigan PGA Section News

    Ron Osborne was announced as the sole member of the 2025 Michigan PGA Hall of Fame Induction Class. Osborne has been a PGA Member since 1992 and recently retired from the GM and Head Golf Professional position at Binder Park Golf Course in Battle Creek.
    A passionate advocate for junior golf, Ron dedicated eight years as Chairman of the Michigan PGA Junior Golf Committee, earning recognition as the Junior Golf Leader of the Year in both 2000 and 2001. Under his leadership, Binder Park also hosted the PGA Junior League State Championships five times in the past six years.
    Ron’s leadership extends beyond the course. He has held leadership roles within both the Western Chapter and the Michigan PGA Section, including Secretary, Vice President, and President (2016-17) of the Section. His dedication and professionalism were recognized when he was named the Michigan PGA Section Golf Professional of the Year in 2012.

    New Officers:

    The Michigan Section PGA elected new officers for a two-year term at the Association’s Annual Fall Meeting.

    Dan Urban, Director of Golf at Gull Lake Country Club in Richland Michigan, takes over as the Association’s President. Urban has been the Director of Golf at Gull Lake Country Club since 2016 and will succeed the Section's first female President, Stephanie Jennings.
    Jeff Rachar, of Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan, has been elected Vice President. Rachar, a member of The PGA of America since 2003, has been the Head Golf Professional at Oakland University since 2024.
    Ward Sutton, of Kent Country Club in Grand Rapids, has been elected Secretary. Sutton, a member of The PGA of America since 2004. 

    Stephanie Jennings, an 18-year member of The PGA of America, is the Director of Instruction at Whole Golf since 2024, and steps in as Honorary President.
