GolfWeek’s Top Resort Courses in Michigan

By Tom Lang

As usual, GolfWeek’s raters think Michigan has some terrific public golf courses.

Their panelists (which I used to be one) rank 13 of our resort courses. They are not ranking the resorts overall or the amenities but just courses located at resorts – for 2026.

The Great Lakes State tied North Carolina with 13 golf courses ranked among Golfweek's top 200 resort courses, third behind only California (20) and Florida (19).

I have been humbled enough to play 12 of the 13 over the years – and can personally recommend each one. Of note, Tullymore jumped up 20 spots from last year.

    As ranked nationally by GolfWeek:

  • Arcadia Bluffs (Bluffs), Arcadia, T27

  • The Loop at Forest Dunes, Roscommon, 36

  • Arcadia Bluffs (South), Arcadia, T62

  • Forest Dunes, Roscommon, T62

  • Bay Harbor (Links/Quarry), Harbor Springs, T84

  • Stoatin Brae at Gull Lake View, Augusta, T107

  • Tullymore, Stanwood, T128

  • Arthur Hills at Boyne Highlands, Harbor Springs, T149

  • Hidden River, Brutus, T166

  • Timber Stone at Pine Mountain, Iron Mountain, T171

  • Signature at Treetops, Gaylord, T174

  • St. Ives at Tullymore, Stanwood, T177

  • Jones Masterpiece at Treetops, Gaylord, T180
