SuperStroke Releases Limited-Edition Folds of Honor Putter Grip
May is big month for military charity outings
Wixom, Michigan-based SuperStroke has unveiled its Limited Editon Folds of Honor Putter grip with a portion of the sales of every grip in this release being donated to the Folds of Honor Foundation. This SuperStroke Zenergy putter grip is available in the popular Pistol 1.0 on their website at SuperStrokeUSA.com.
The Folds of Honor logo appears in its signature blue script while the SuperStroke logo features red and blue script with textured white-on-white stars behind it for a subtle touch of feel and patriotism. These unique grips are available for $39.99 while they last.
Founded in 2007 by Lt Col Dan Rooney, the only-ever F-16 fighter pilot to also be a PGA of America Golf Professional, Folds of Honor has awarded nearly 73,000 scholarships, totaling over $340 million in all 50 states. Among the students served, 43 percent are minorities.
“Folds of Honor is grateful to SuperStroke for creating and offering this Limited-Edition Folds of Honor putter grip to help shine a light on our mission and the lives of the military and first responders’ families who have sacrificed so much,” said Sara Bush, Senior Director of Golf Relations for Folds of Honor. “The educational need for these families is substantial, and we’re able to carry on this work with the overwhelming support from the golf community and partners like SuperStroke.”
The Pistol 1.0 is 1.14” wide and 10.6” long. It weighs 83g and has a 0.58” core.
Patriot Golf Days Nationwide
The original Patriot Golf Day was a one-day event where local golf courses would add $1 or other amount to the day’s greens fees and donate the extra to Folds of Honor. Typically, it would take place over Memorial Day weekend, but in the past two decades the cause has grown into a major nationwide campaign all summer long, supported by PGA of America local pros with multiple-day opportunities and outings.
One such pro is the late Dave Kendall, former co-owner of Washtenaw Golf Club in Ypsilanti. Despite Kendall succumbing to cancer in late 2025, the event goes on and this year will be on Monday, June 29th. Started in June 2022, as an added highlight, the three top teams receive golf at American Dunes, and each player on the top team receives a foursome.
American Dunes itself – redesigned by Jack Nicklaus from the birth-place of Folds of Honor, the former Grand Haven Golf Club – donates all proceeds for the entire year to Folds of Honor. Special events this year include: World Golf Hall of Famer Nancy Lopez’s Intrepid Golf event in June, the Summer Salute tournament in July, the Folds of Honor Collegiate in September and the season-ending Wingman – Folds of Honor Scramble in mid-October.
